Trail

A Trail camera is left outdoors, often far from Wi-Fi and mains power, to watch wildlife. It is the product line with the most camera-side extras: a hunting (embargo) mode with a daily schedule, a GPS position, timelapse capture, and — on cellular models — a SIM drawing on a data pool shared by the space. ProductType.trail ("Trail") is the product id used by Subscriptions.

DeviceModel carries the state of all of them: embargo, gpsCoordinates and fourG.

Events and notifications

A Trail camera raises EventTag.wildlife; identified animals carry the same species tree as Bird events, and the same call expands them. Detection and identification notifications are muted separately through WildlifeNotification (wildlifeDetectionMute, wildlifeIdentificationMute) — see Device Cloud Settings.

Battery and data

Trail cameras are battery cameras: the cloud-settings, operator and cluster calls take wakeup (see Cameras), and an unattended live stream drains both the battery and the data pool — always set autoDisconnectTime.
